Report of “2024-11-29”



1) Reported Rash cases

In the past 52 weeks, 220 rash cases were reported. Following investigation, 126 were discarded, 89 were classified as measles, and 5 as rubella.
During the year 2024, and since January, 197 rash cases were reported. Following investigation, 115 were discarded, 78 were classified as measles, and 4 as rubella.

2) Measles cases for past 52 weeks

In the past 52 weeks, among the 89 classified Measles cases, 11 were lab-confirmed, 0 epi-linked, and 78 compatible clinical cases.
The percentage of confirmed cases (laboratory or epi-linked) was 12.36%. The rate of measles cases was 14.26 per million.
The highest rates per million were observed in Baalbeck Hermel with 20.66 and in Bekaa with 35.97.
The most affected age groups are: the under 5 years representing 41.57 % of the cases, with age-specific rate of 68.46 per million, and with 42.86 % unvaccinated, followed by the 5-9 years old representing 16.85 % of the cases, with age-specific rate of 24.42 per million, and with 33.33 % unvaccinated.
Among the cases, 44.9% were male, 59.6% were Lebanese, and 16.9% were admitted to hospitals.


During the year 2024, and since January, among the 78 classified Measles cases, 9 were lab-confirmed, 0 epi-linked, and
69 compatible clinical cases.
