Hasbani Discusses with the Lebanese Syndicate of Medical Laboratories the Matters of the Sector

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani met with a delegation from the Lebanese Syndicate of medical Laboratories owners headed by Christian Haddad and discussed with them the matters of the sector and the increasing problems, in particular with the growing number of dispensaries that conduct laboratory tests without meeting the required conditions for laboratories, which may have negative impact on the accuracy of tests and the patients’ health.

The delegation submitted to Minister Hasbani a letter of its demands, in which it recalled a previous decision that allowed laboratories to conduct 7 simple tests, and stressed the importance of committing to this decision and placing labs under the supervision of a specialized lab professional or pharmacist.
The Ministry of Public Health will work on updating the regulations pertaining to this subject and correct the matters related to the implementation of the law and the patients’ health in collaboration with the syndicate.
